London Schools’ Climate Programme / Funding available for secondary schools

FAO: All Secondary Schools

We’re writing to you as The Mayor of London and key partners (including Let’s Go Zero 2030 and Bloomberg, supported by the London Schools Climate Summit) will shortly be announcing an environmental London schools programme to take place in Autumn 2021. It will coincide with the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26) and following the inaugural Earthshot Prize in London. We aim to showcase the fantastic work that so many London schools and associated organisations are already doing to tackle environmental issues, but also to enable all students, teachers and their families to get involved.

This opportunity is open to all secondary schools and associated education providers in Greater London, whether they are already taking environmental action or not. There will be funding available as well as free lesson resources, activities and toolkits which relate to the curriculum. We are also supported by a number of high-profile advocates and organisations who will be able to champion the work or ambition of some of the schools. Please note that any opportunities for primary schools to participate will be circulated separately.

Full details of the programme will be announced at the start of September, but due to the tight timescales, we are asking for an expression of interest for schools to take part prior to the summer holiday via the link below. Here you will also find more details on the programme. The form takes approximately 8 minutes to complete.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope you are able to take part.

Best wishes,

The Greater London Authority Environment Team
