Increase in CYP attending A & E for Mental Health issues

Dear Colleagues,

It has been reported by our CAMHS team, that there is an increase in CYP attending A & E for Mental Health issues.  

We have been asked by CAMHS to urgently advise professionals, teachers and parents/carers to contact the Mental Health Crisis Line 0800 151 0023 in the first instance. 

The switchboard will direct calls to the Enfield CAMHS SAFE team (9-5 work days) and an out of hours service at other times where calls will be directed to a North Central London CAMHS professional.

It is really important that this is done so that they get good advice from an experienced CAMHS professional to plan the next steps.
