Aims
To equip school leaders with effective, research-based tools to look after their own emotional and physical health, in order to be able to support the school community.
Overview
As the immense pressure on senior leaders endures, we’re increasingly understanding the importance of looking after ourselves. Self-care is not selfish; it’s essential if we are to be able to perform effectively in the long term. Drawing on approaches from dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy and mindfulness, these sessions will equip you with tools to:
- Check in regularly with your own emotional wellbeing
- Develop good habits for the foundational pillars of movement, sleep, and nutrition
- Identify your sources of enjoyment, connection and mastery
- Make a manageable plan to incorporate these elements into each day and week
- Practise techniques for when you feel very overwhelmed or distressed
