We have consciously avoided a menu titled ‘Behaviour’ or ‘Behaviour Management’. We have formed a strong collaboration with Mark Finnis who heads up Relational Systems as a leading national provider of Restorative Practice. This aligns to the Education Department strategy of bringing Trauma Informed Practice to Enfield schools in a more consolidated way than before. We will work with schools on what else would support the relationships first approach. We are already working with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) on two programs. Particularly relevant is the first recommendation from their Improving Behaviour report is that: Every pupil should have a supportive relationship with a member of school staff.
One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child
