Overview

This three-part programme for Art and Design coordinators looks at all aspects of curriculum design and delivery, in the context of overarching views of excellent curriculum design and Ofsted’s 2019 Inspection Framework.

The first live session has already been held, but we would still like to give subject leads who may have missed this session the opportunity to sign up for the program. A recording of tthe first session, which can then be watched on-demand, will be made available to you once you have registered. Session 2, which was always intended to be delivered on-demand will follow, and you weill then be able to join the final session live over Zoon.

 Each half-day session will cover:

Session 1 (originally held live over Zoom, will now be available to watch on demand)

  • How Ofsted defines an art and design ‘curriculum’
  • Creating an exciting, effective, connected and pupil-focused curriculum in art
  • Sharing experiences of art, design and craft from across the UK

Session 2 (on-demand recording to support reflection and activities)

  • Sharing and embedding expectations for art
  • Monitoring strategies that focus on improvement in art and design
  • What is ‘cultural capital’ in art, and how do we deliver it?

Session 3 (live via Zoom)

  • Creating challenge in a mastery curriculum for art and design
  • Ensuring consistency in art provision
  • Establishing and evidencing impact
