Aims

To develop an understanding of the fundamental elements that need to be considered in developing an inclusive curriculum and set participants up for the next steps of development & implementation of their inclusive curriculum.

Overview

This course will run over two sessions, with participants completeing a gap task in between them.

Session 1: This interactive session will delve into the meaning of unconscious bias and how it affects our own lives and society. Opportunity will be given to reflect on what this means for your school context and plan next steps for your school and you as an individual.

GAP Task: At the end of Session 1, Orlene will go through the gap task where participants will use a 6 week plan from their school. A deadline will be set by which date, participants will email Orlene their draft plan. Orlene & team will respond with feedback ahead of Session2.

Session 2: Following on from the gap task and feedback, this interactive session will provide opportunity to share learning from the gap task, address any issues and plan for the next steps required to bring the whole school community on board with the implementation and ongoing development of an inclusive curriculum.
