Overview

Enfield Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and we are committed to becoming a carbon neutral council by 2030 and a carbon neutral borough by 2040.

Enfield’s schools make up more than a quarter of the council’s carbon emissions and the purpose of this new network is to support schools to take climate action and reduce these emissions.

Climate action can be incorporated into every aspect of school life, from curriculum, to estate management, to how you support families to get to and from school in a way which maximises their health and minimises their carbon footprint.

This network brings together schools and council officers to help develop ways in which we can support this schools-based climate action across the borough.
