Early Years TA course - January 2025

Aims

This course will examine the statutory requirements for the Early Years Foundation Stage and explore the themes and principles which underpin it as well as the non-statutory guidance which supports the delivery of the curriculum.

The course will cover:

• The importance of child development and how young children learn
• How the enabling environment promotes children's learning
• The importance of the learning environment and your contribution to this
• The importance of valuing and using the outdoor environment as an extension of the indoor learning environment
• Developing strategies for effective adult-child interactions
• Observation skills, assessment and planning
• Understanding the assessment requirements of the EYFS Profile
• Developing partnerships with parents
