Aims
Self -regulation has been identified as a key competent in child development; powerfully strengthening both learning and well-being. Now also highlighted within the revised EYFS, this session will explore what self-regulation is and how it connects to what we know about how young children learn. We will consider how we can effectively support children in developing their self-regulation skills, reflecting on the implications for practice and provision.
Overview
This session will include:
* A clear understanding of what self-regulation is
* Practical examples of ways to support self-regulation
* An exploration of the how self-regulation is connected to other aspects of learning
The child is endowed with unknown powers, which can guide us to a radiant future. If what we really want is a new world, then education must take as its aim the development of these hidden possibilities
