Aims

A three-part webinar package for EYFS practitioners who are looking to develop language and communication skills
Join us for this package of three webinars which have been designed to provide insightful CPD opportunities for your early years team.
The sessions will draw on the latest research findings and explore the key steps involved in early language development. Consider the processes involved in holding a ‘conversation’, vocabulary enrichment and how we can successfully support quality talk within provision.

You will also receive additional resources to support you with monitoring and evaluating provision, practice and pedagogy.

Overview

Part 1: Stages of development for speech, language and communication
Deepening understanding of the typical stages of development from birth to five years of age and distinguish between speech, language and communication.
Part 2: The impact of the learning environment
Understand the impact of the learning environment on children’s language and communication.
Part 3: Action planning for practice and provision
Reflect on potential changes to practice and provision which will best support the development of children’s speech, language and communication.

Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognise that the welfare of our children and grandchildren is intimately linked ot the welfare of all other people's cihldren. After all, when one of our children needs lifesaving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. If one of our children is threatened or harmed by violence, someone else's child will be responsible for the violent act. The good life for our own children can be secured only if a good life is also secured for all other people's children
