Aims
To understand the difference between receptive and expressive language
To know that receptive and expressive language difficulties impact on learning, behaviour and social skills
To be equipped with tools to support memory, vocabulary development and narrative skills
To enhance participants ability to appropriate pitched questions to pupils’ level of understanding
Overview
This course is designed to give participants an overview of receptive language (understanding) and expressive language (speaking) difficulties. The impact of these on learning and behaviour will be explored along with some strategies for developing speech, language and communication skills.
