New National Plan for Music Education

On 25th June 2022 the Government published The power of music to change lives: a national plan for music education, referred to informally as the NPME.

This is an update to the original national plan published in 2011 and sets out how schools, Music Hubs, further education providers and the wider creative sector should work together to support the vision that all children and young people should be enabled to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together, and have the opportunity to progress their musical interests and talents, including professionally.
