January Kooth Newsletter

For all Residents

Happy new year and welcome to Kooth’s January newsletter for local services. We hope you had a good break and are feeling refreshed for the new year.

Recent research from Kooth shows that 97% of young people say it’s important to not need a referral to access Kooth.
Kooth is available to any young person without the need for a referral from either their school or GP. There are no thresholds to meet and no waiting lists.
One young person said: “You don't need referrals to access this. Nobody had to know, and it's anonymous. It's a great way of getting your feelings out there and getting the support you need right away for free."

To kick off 2024 we’re offering free KoothTalks Training webinars. Please click to book (don’t worry if you can’t make these times - just fill in the short form and we’ll send you the recording for you to watch in your own time):

Interested in how we support young people experiencing anxiety, eating disorders, or who are neurodiverse? Check out our Vimeo with our bank of past webinars.

Free Resources

We have some new resources for you: please print, display or post to remind young people about the free mental health support available at Kooth:

  • Kooth winter activity sheets: Take a look at our latest *NEW* activity sheets for young people to explore their emotions, relationship skills, and coping techniques. As we begin the new term, why not encourage young people to reflect on their goals with the New Year’s resolution box?
  • Support guides for young people: Share our 6 support guides for young people, which offer helpful advice and information on social anxiety, eating difficulties, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, and safety plans, in addition to a young person's experience on Kooth.
  • Social media assets: Check out our latest digital posters and video assets, as well as our suggested tweets and templates, which you can share in your emails, websites, and social media channels.

We are the largest provider to the NHS for digital mental health services and the largest contributor to the MHSDS. Our youth and adolescent service is available to over 62% of all children and young people in the UK. Our adult service is available in over 20 regions across the UK. Alongside this, we deliver pioneering research and work to establish the evidence base for Kooth to contribute to best practice in digital mental health innovation - which is really important to us. As a BACP-accredited service, we have developed bespoke, clinically validated measures around peer-to-peer interaction and a single-session therapeutic model.
