E-Books & E-Audiobooks for Children & Teens

You can join the library service online here: https://libraries.enfield.gov.uk/client/en_GB/enfield which will allow anyone to join without having to visit the library physically.

New users should get a borrower number (starting UNREG) and PIN that should work on any of our e-resources. If there is any issues with accessing resources with an UNREG number, please email libraryresources@enfield.gov.uk where they can update the account to a full library membership.

They have a huge array of resources available for children, highlighting in particular:

  • Libby- where there are 1,425 e-books and 161 e-audiobooks for children and teens
  • BorrowBox- where there are extremely popular e-audiobooks available such as Harry Potter, Tom Gates, 13-Storey Treehouse, and titles by Jacqueline Wilson
  • Britannica Online, both Student and Junior which is free to access here: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/libraries/digital-library/#5
  • RBDigital where comics and graphic novels can be borrowed

Apps for the above can be downloaded from app stores on the particular device. Items on loan can be reserved, and the team add new content regularly. The team would also like to encourage pupils parents and carers to join the service, they can do so as above.  There is an extensive adult offer including e-books and e-audiobooks mentioned on the platforms above, plus free film and music streaming through IndieFlix and Quello and a huge e-magazine offering with titles such as New Scientist, Cosmopolitan, Hello, The Economist, BBC Good Food, Women’s Fitness and Men’s Fitness. Finally, they also have PressReader which has over 3,000 newspapers available in over 60 languages. Newspapers are available from different countries, a popular example for us is the Turkish Hurriyet.

All e-materials from Enfield Libraries are complimentary with a library card, so completely free to use
