COVID Local Support Grant from the Government - May Half term arrangements

Dear Headteachers,

Enfield Council has been awarded £270k through the COVID Local Support Grant from the Government.

This grant will cover the period from Saturday 17 April 2021 to Sunday 20 June 2021 and is in addition to the £1.4 million COVID Winter Grant Scheme that was put in place between November 2020 and Friday 16 April 2021.

We intend to allocate the £270k in the following ways:

  1. May Half Term - £15 voucher per FSM child. Vouchers must be ordered between the 12th and 21st May via Edenred or using your local system. If you are using your local system please click here. Due to the restrictions on the grant, vouchers must be ordered within the order window and redeemed by the 8th June. After this date vouchers will be cancelled.
  2. Schools are also invited to nominate children who would benefit from a £15 voucher and are not entitled to FSM. Subject to the volume of nominations received, we will either approve your full request or inform you how many vouchers you can award. Vouchers should then be ordered and distributed in the same format as the FSM vouchers. Please click here to let us how many additional children would benefit from a £15 voucher for the half term
  3. £50K will shared across Primary and Special Schools to enhance your work healthy eating. The grant should be used to support activities during Healthy Eating Week 14th to 18th June 2021. The funds your school receive will reflect the number of FSM children you have as at the January Census. Attached are the allocation amounts.
