Suicide Prevention Training (No Cost) - Phase 2 of THRIVE LDN/PAPYRUS Funded Training offer - Barnet, Enfield and Harrow Joint Training

FAO: All Schools / All Phases

Dear Colleagues,

Thrive LDN, supported by the Mayor of London and led by the London Health Board partners, have funded Papyrus to deliver Suicide Prevention training to schools (primary and secondary), colleges and universities across London. It is now in Phase 2 of project delivery.

Please e-mail me directly if you would like a representative from your school to attend.  We have limited spaces, but thought that your schools may particularly be interested.

The offer is:

  • 3.5hr SPEAK training delivered online via Zoom

Main objectives:

  • To consider the attitudes, myths and stigma that surround suicide
  • To recognise and explore the ‘signs’ that may indicate someone is having thoughts of suicide
  • To encourage an open, safe and sensitive conversation about suicide with a person having thoughts of suicide
  • To support a safety plan with someone thinking of suicide.

This is an in-depth skills based training and suitable for those who regularly support young people who are thinking about suicide.

  • We especially welcome staff from schools that need further support due to high level of incidences.

The multi borough training will take place on  4th May 9.30am – 1pm (this date is fixed and cannot be changed)

Please forward names and e-mail addresses asap to suzy.francis@enfield.gov.uk so we can forward onto the training provider by 15th April reach out and book them onto training.

Places are limited - we have 7 places allocated as a whole borough.

Best wishes

Suzy
