Schools Climate Action Network

Enfield Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and the council has committed to becoming a carbon neutral organisation by 2030 and a carbon neutral borough by 2040.

Enfield’s schools make up more than a quarter of the council’s carbon emissions and we are setting up a new network to support schools to take climate action and reduce these emissions.

Climate action can be incorporated into every aspect of school life, from curriculum, to estate management, to how you support families to get to and from school in a way which maximises their health and minimises their carbon footprint.

We are holding our first climate action network meeting 2pm – 3.30pm on Wednesday, 3 March. The purpose of the network is to bring together school and council officers to help develop ways in which we can support schools-based climate action across the borough.

You will:

  • Find out the different ways in which the council can support you in taking climate action
  • Share your views on how the council can develop this offer and work with you to facilitate learning between schools
  • Find out about national initiatives and programmes to help you to take action
  • Develop a plan for the future of this new network.

Please book through your school-based booker via  www.enfieldpdonline.org.uk/

There is no charge for participants of this network.
