DEAL - Developing Emotional Awareness and Listening

For the attention of Outreach – all School Phases

The Samaritans provide emotional and confidential support for people struggling to cope. Every seven seconds, we respond to a call for help offering a non-judgemental and safe environment to talk to.

What we do?

The Samaritans have over 60 years’ experience of providing emotional support for people struggling to cope and have been carrying out preventative work with young people in schools.

We can support schools with:

  1. Emotional Health talks for assemblies (currently online only)
  2. Emotional Health talks for workshops, PSHE lessons or to fit in with events like Anti Bullying Week (currently online only)
  3. DEAL (Developing Emotional Awareness and Listening). DEAL includes lesson plans, activities, hand-outs, DEAL digital resources, teachers’ notes and staff training materials can all be accessed and downloaded at any time for use with students ages 14 upwards. https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/schools/deal/
