Enfield Policing Schools Update

Following a long few months of officers being abstracted for Euro aids and/or back filling roles on response teams our work and commitment to you as our partners and young people never stops. We are committed to keeping our young people safe.
Despite the abstractions see weekly update activities and patrols carried out week commencing 28th June. I shall aim to share a weekly update with you to promote the work that is taking place by our SSO teams.
We have devised an end of term patrol plan (see below) working with safer neighbourhood ward officer, robbery teams, Violence suppression units and local businesses to safeguard young people from 16th July to the end of term to reduce SYV and robberies in the area
We are regularly patrolling outside schools in Enfield, crime hotspots and carrying out weapon sweeps in crime hotspots after school finishing times balancing visibility of officers at the gates at finish times whilst also extending their tour of duty beyond schools finishing times.
We have also been working with design out crime teams in and around certain schools to look at the core issues of where we commonly find weapons to apply a problem solving approach to Policing. We are working in partnership with the council and Nexus to provide free training to our SSO covering a wide range of areas and working with Suzie Francis to provide Trauma Informed training too.
