Internal Audit Schools Framework

The Council’s 2021/22 Internal Audit plan was agreed at the Council’s General Purposes Committee (GPC) meeting held on 4 March 2021, which includes several schools. Minutes and papers from this meeting can be viewed on the Council’s website. Please be aware that the audit plan is periodically reviewed throughout the year and may be subject to change.
The school audit testing programme, which is aligned to the Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS), is designed to assess whether controls are adequately designed and operating effectively. Internal Audit has prepared this framework to provide an outline for schools of the areas that will be covered in audits and key documentation that will be required during the review. We hope schools will find this helpful, especially when preparing for an internal audit review this year.
