If You Were an Engineer Competition

FAO: All Schools / All Phases

Dear Colleagues,

‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?'  (Leaders Award)  is a free UK-wide, STEM competition which requires primary and secondary pupils from 3 to 19 to interview engineering professionals and then design a solution to a problem in response to the question, ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’

The project is curriculum aligned and has all the lesson plans and resources to support it available on our online platform. It aligns with 6 of the Gatsby benchmarks (A stable careers programme, learning from career and labour market information, addressing the needs of each pupil, linking curriculum learning to careers, encounters with employers and employees and providing experiences of workplaces) and fits in to the curriculum at all stages. It also supports schools to bring engineering to life, one of the biggest areas of career opportunity we currently have.

For further information and details reagrding entering please see the website www.leadersaward.com and the attached poster.

Best regards

David
