NEW MODERATORS FOR 2022 -2023
FAO: All Primary Headteachers
Dear Headteachers,
We are recruiting Moderators for KS1 and KS2 for 2022-23. If you wish to nominate any of your staff please complete and return the attached form to seyis@enfield.gov.uk no later than the 14th December 2022.
The requirements are:
- You will be required to pass a standardisation exercise.
- You will need to attend the training briefings (3 x ½ day),
- Participate in the moderation briefings for all schools (2 x ½ day)
- Work in collaboration with selected schools for statutory moderation (3 days).
- The standardisation training and test dates are:
- KS1 – Monday, 16 January 2023 1pm - 5pm
- KS2 – Wednesday, 18 January 2023 1pm - 5pm
Moderators must have the required knowledge to undertake moderation of key stage 1 and key stage 2 and verify teacher assessment judgements in school.
They can ensure:
- the consistency and accuracy of TA across the school.
- moderators are familiar with the KS1 and KS2 English writing frameworks for the current academic year.
How does working as a moderator advantage your school?
It means that leaders and teachers are able to offer advice and provide strategic leadership. It also means that moderators are able to inform colleagues within the school of how to apply the standard of what they are assessing with pupils.
