Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Guidance (DfE)
Schools should note that the DfE has withdrawn the standalone document 'Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment' as the content is now part of the statutory guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education.
You should ensure that policy and procedure documents no longer refer to the sexual violence and sexual harassment guidance, but instead to KCSIE Part Five.

Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 - Translations (LGfL)
Our friends at the London Grid for Learning have translated Part One and Annex A of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 into thirteen community languages:

- Chinese (Simpl.)
- Chinese (Trad.)
- Gujarati
- Polish
- Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Punjabi
- Romanian
- Somali
- Spanish
- Ukrainian
- Urdu
These translations were carried out by professional linguist with secondary proofing. However, the original English version should be treated as the official source of statutory school staff duties.

Eating Disorders Resources (Beat)
Beat, the UK’s eating disorder charity, has opened a new free e-learning platform for all school staff. SPOT (School Professionals Online Training) helps school staff with the information they need to recognise an eating disorder, refer a pupil for treatment, and support them through their recovery journey.
SPOT is designed so that school staff can learn on their terms, from experts by personal and professional experience as well as their peers. The platform provides interactive e-learning modules and webinar videos delivered by expert clinicians, as well as downloadable lesson plans and other resources. Clinicians and lived experience trainers (people who’ve had eating disorders themselves and recovered) host weekly Q&A sessions. Users also have the chance to speak with other school professionals through chat rooms.

Can Ofsted inspectors see child protection files?
Recently I was asked whether schools should redact children's names in child protection records that Ofsted inspectors need to view. Ofsted told me: “Our policy team say that they don’t see any need for schools to anonymise the case files that they present to inspectors.
The school inspection handbook sets out the evidence that schools should make available at the start of the inspection and this includes: a list of all pupils who are open cases with children’s services/social care and for whom there is a multi-agency plan.
It’s important that inspectors have access to open cases so that they can track how effectively those pupils have been safeguarded by the school, working with the local authority and other relevant agencies. But of course inspectors don’t include personal data about individual cases in their reports.”

Advanced Safeguarding for DSLs
This is a four-session course for DSLs over a full-day. The course is offered live and as a recorded replay. When the course is live, there are plenty of opportunities to contribute with observations, questions or answers. As a recording, the interactions from other people are included and feedback notes that this makes it feel like you are not on your own.
