Coronation Competitions and Celebrations for children and young people
Primary and Secondary school children; Art and Literacy Leads
Enfield’s budding artists, creative writers, volunteers and party people are invited to celebrate the historic occasion of the Coronation of His Majesty The King.
Enfield Council is particularly keen for young people to enter one of our coronation-themed competitions, to create the best portrait of King Charles III or write the most interesting royal-themed short story and be in with a chance of winning a prize.
Portraits by young people aged 10+ can be handed in to any Enfield library or emailed to libraryservices@enfield.gov.uk, between 8 April and 6 May, to be in with a chance of winning a book voucher.
The writing competition for children aged 5+ is also hosted by Enfield libraries. For those who’d like some help crafting a story, brand-new interactive software called Scribeasy is available in hub libraries. Stories should be emailed to the library service between 14 April and 6 May.
The writing competition winner will have their story printed in the libraries’ newsletter and in a small printed and bound book.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Local Economy and Public Spaces, Cllr Chinelo Anyanwu, said: “We particularly want to see how the younger generation is interpreting this once-in-a-lifetime event. We’d love to read your stories and see your pictures and where possible, we’ll share our favourites on social media.”
