Helping young Londoners to access urgent mental health support this winter

Healthy London Partnership has updated our communications toolkit to help signpost young Londoners and their families to London’s free NHS mental health crisis lines. You can find tailored messaging to highlight that the service continues to be available 24/7 over the festive period and winter months. A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a physical one. Together we can raise awareness of the crisis lines and help young people and their families to get support when they need it.

Disordered Eating webinar series – February 2023

Following a rise in presentations of disordered eating, Healthy London Partnership has worked closely with a group of experienced clinicians and experts by experience to develop a set of guiding principles on how to best support and meet the needs of this group. We will be running a webinar series on Disordered Eating in February 2023 to help families and professionals working with young people to better their understanding of this condition.

The webinars will explore the key principles and learning from our recently published Disordered Eating Guidance in more detail.

Beat Support for parents and carers of children and young people with eating disorders

We know this time of year can be particularly tricky to manage for children and young people with eating disorders – and their parents and carers – given the heightened focus on food as part of festive celebrations. Healthy London Partnership and London’s three Children and Young People’s Mental Health Inpatient Provider Collaboratives have been working with Beat, the UK’s Eating Disorder charity, to ensure that parents and carers have access to high-quality support so they can best support their loved ones. Beat offer a range of free support for anyone based in London and caring for a child or young person, which can be in addition to any specialist services they are already accessing.
