GRT History month June 2023

  • Since 2008, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month has celebrated the diverse cultures of the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
  • It started in London Borough of Brent in 2001, was endorsed by Parliament in 2007 and has been celebrated nationally in June since 2008.
  • Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month celebrates the diverse ways that Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities add to the vibrancy of life in the UK and recognises the varied contributions that these communities have made to British society historically and today.
