London Lifesavers Schools Programme in Enfield
FAO: Headteachers, Teachers at all Secondary Schools – specifically year 8
London Ambulance Service NHS Trust has launched the London Lifesavers schools programme which will see thousands of school pupils taught how to save a life over the next few years.
The London Lifesavers campaign aims to improve people’s chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest by equipping Londoners with the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency situation until ambulance crews arrive.
This will be achieved by training members of the public at regular pop-up events across the capital, collaborating with businesses and working with not-for-profit organisations.
They are now expanding the campaign to deliver free training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use a defibrillator to all year 8 school pupils across the capital, one of the biggest programmes of its kind.
Educating and empowering school pupils to know what to do when someone is in cardiac arrest will help save lives.
