EASA Conference 2024
For all staff in Enfield Educational Settings, Parents of Autistic Children & Young People and Professionals in local Services/Organisations who work with Autistic Children & Young People
Day 1 - Enabling Environments - Tuesday 26th March 2024
An exciting day of talks and presentations by autism specialists
The day will include:
- Opening by the Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Suna Hurman
- Launch of the Enfield Autism Strategy Film
- Presentations from autism specialists on enabling environments and listening to the voices of autistic children and young people:
- Why 'Enabling Environments' are so important for autistic learners (Dr Rachel Walker)
- The impact of sensory processing and the sensory environment on learning (Dr Helga Abernethy)
- Enabling the voices of autistic children and young people (Helen Cooke)
- Remembering our enriched selves - Tree of Life narrative therapy (Claire Collins)
Day 2 - Enabling Environments (Workshops) - Wednesday 27th March 2024
A series of workshops on adapting resources and the environment to support autistic children and young people
- Multi-sensory resources including fun, messy play ideas for home and settings (Sue Collins)
- Adapting the environment to support children and young people with self-care skills (Jessica Patel)
- Understanding sensory processing and its impact on behaviour and anxiety (Jo Dudley)
Tickets: £50 per day for Professionals; £20 per day for parents

There will also be a free online presentation for staff in secondary schools and post-16 provision on Wednesday 27th March, 3.45 - 5pm, led by Linda Nevin-Drummond (Advisory Teacher):
