Working with Schools to Raise Post-16 Participation and Lower NEET Figures

For all All Secondary Headteachers, Careers Leads, Pastoral Staff, Head of Year 11 and Head of Sixth Form.

The Participation and Inclusion Team is part of the Schools and Early Years Improvement Service (SEYIS) and leads on delivering the council’s statutory duties under the Raising Participation Age (RPA) framework.

Our core focus is to track and support 16–18-year-olds who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). This work includes:

•            Statutory Data Collection for post 16 participation.

•            NEET Tracking & Support for all 16–18-year-olds who are not in education, employment, or training.

•            Targeted Interventions such as careers meeting and group session for year 11 learners identified as “at risk of becoming NEET” based on the Risk of NEET Indicators, (RONI).
