Weekly Attendance Data: Information for Schools Using Perspective Lite
For all Schools
The LA has made the Weekly Data Analysis in Perspective Lite available to all schools. Data commences from week ending 26 September 2025 and is imported on a weekly basis.
Schools are encouraged to check the Weekly Attendance Data area regularly to support early intervention, strengthen pastoral conversations, and monitor emerging trends.
This section offers a clear and current overview of attendance trends, enabling early and well‑informed intervention. It highlights key insights into both regional and national absence levels.
You can then explore key indicators - SEND, EHCP, FSM and Pupil Premium - to understand how your school’s attendance compares within the local authority and your statistical neighbours.
As referenced in Ian Hewison’s recent briefing with headteachers, the DfE now uses statistical‑neighbour comparison data in its published VYED reports. While this resource is not DfE‑verified, it provides a strong and reliable indicator that can help you gauge your school’s performance.
Caution is advised when using national, regional and statistical neighbour comparators as currently 54% of LA’s are importing weekly attendance into Perspective Lite.
