STA Assessment update – 29th September

For all Schools with Reception, Primary, KS1 and KS2 Phase

The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) latest email was sent on 29 September 2026 and includes the following information and reminders listed below.

Primary assessments general 

  • Information: NCA Portal forms open on Monday 12 October
  • Reminder: review your NCA Portal user access 

Reception

  • Reminder: complete outstanding reception baseline assessments
  • Publication: updated early years foundation stage profile handbook 

Key stage 1

  • Reminder: optional KS1 teacher assessment guidance updated for 2027

Key stage 2

  • Reminder: 2026 KS2 test marking and clerical review outcomes will be available tomorrow, Wednesday 30 September
  • Reminder: KS2 teacher assessment guidance updated for 2027
  • Publication: how to become a marker for the 2027 KS2 tests
