Enfield Schools' Virtual Dance Festival 2021 - Myths And Legends
Our schools’ dance festival is, I am pleased to say, legendary. Having to cancel the 2020 Dance festival at the Millfield because of the Pandemic, was truly heart-breaking for all involved- especially for the students. We don’t want to face that predicament again, so this year we plan to bring the festival to your school.
Virtual show 1 Tuesday 2nd March
Virtual show 2 Thursday 11th March
Virtual show 3 Tuesday 27th April
Virtual show 4 Wednesday 28th April
We will collate the video entries for each date into a 40 minute festival show, and invite participating schools to join us through a Zoom Webinar. We will not be broadcasting to parents. This is a festival for students, teachers and staff to enjoy. Further festival guidelines will be supplied on registration.
Each school can enter one dance video between 90 seconds and 3 minutes, to be included in one show only. There are two options:
- Option 1: a pre-recorded dance entry, where the teacher films the children performing live at school.
- Option 2: an edited entry. The dance will be brought together virtually by filming groups or individuals separately and editing the footage together. This will enable students from the same group, who, due to shielding / social distancing or restricted by travel can’t be present at school.
This year every school registered to participate in the DF will be able to access, free of charge, a 3-part interactive webinar series called Small Spaces (worth £750)
Small Spaces, designed and tutored by Bobbie Gargrave, Kim Henderson and Jan Hickman, will:
- Provide guidance in planning/delivering dance in the primary school (in small spaces).
- Developing age-related dance material
- Introduce , or refresh, choreography and performance skills
- Give you access to a range of downloadable supportive materials –including music
- Raise awareness of the best resources to support primary dance development
Session 1: Thursday 22nd October, 3.45pm – 5.30pm
Session 2: Thursday 19th November, 3.45pm – 5.30pm
Session 3: Thursday 3rd December, 3.45pm – 5.30pm
We have already received applications from
Tottenhall Infants; Churchfield; Bush Hill Park, West Grove; Carterhatch Infants; Capel Manor and Raglan.
I look forward to your school joining the festival and attach the Contract/Registration form. Last submissions will be Thursday 5th Nov, but if you wish to catch the first of the webinar series a commitment should be made by 20th October.
