Forced Marriage/Honour Based Violence Training

Training sessions are now available for Forced Marriage/Honour Based Violence.

The training sessions cover:

Basic Awareness - 90 minutes

To understand

- the context of Domestic Abuse & so-called Honour Based Abuse

- the definitions of Honour Based Abuse/Forced Marriage & Government / Policing Strategy

- the differences between Arranged / Forced Marriage & why they happen

- the risk indicators / triggers why an individual may suffer Honour Based Abuse / Forced Marriage

- To challenge community/cultural beliefs

Advance level - 90 minutes

- To be able to risk assess and manage the risk to support victims / children - work with case studies

- To learn how practitioners can identify the risks in an agency setting and safety plan - 

- To understand the Forced Marriage Protection Legislation (Criminal & FMPOs) & immigration / policy to support victims with No Recourse to Public Funds (Spousal Visa only) Missed opportunities - the lived experience survivor story
