Anna Freud Schools Link Programme in Enfield – reminder:

The London Borough of Enfield are participating in the Link Programme in the spring term of 2022. The programme is delivered by the Anna Freud Centre, funded by the Department for Education, and will bring together local leaders in education and mental health to identify the support required by children and young people in our area. The sessions will focus on joining up the system for the benefit of schools and colleges.

As part of the programme the Anna Freud Centre will convene and facilitate three tailored support sessions, which you have been invited to attend. The sessions will take place over Zoom and will include stakeholders from across the local authority in education and mental health. The content of the tailored support sessions will be based on the CASCADE framework.

The dates of the sessions and links to register are below – there will be some local adaptations to each session:

  1. Structures to support shared planning and collaborative working:  Thursday 24th Feb 9:30-12:30. The session will include:
  • Aims of the programme/session, introductions, and ground rules
  • How to establish a collaborative working environment between schools/ FE colleges and mental health services
  • Local area presentation on structures currently in place to support shared planning and collaborative working.
  • Developing a plan to create a structured environment which supports shared planning and collaborative working – example of the AMBIT model
  • How to set up a multi-agency steering group
  • How to develop, operationalise and embed a whole-school approach to mental health
  • Reflections and action planning next steps
  • Feedback survey

  1. Common approach to outcome measures to support young people: Thursday 3rd March 9:30-12:30. The session will include:
  • Aims of the programme/session, introductions, and ground rules
  • Overview of what outcome measures are
  • How to select and use an appropriate measure for your setting
  • Local area presentation on use of common outcome measures across the area.
  • How to use outcome measures for evaluation, temperature checking and targeted work
  • How to measure staff wellbeing
  • Action planning and next steps - developing the use of effective monitoring and measuring of outcome measures

  1. Development of integrated working to promote better access to support: Thursday 17th March 9:30-12:30. The session will include:
  • Aims of the programme/session, introductions, and ground rules
  • Where are we now and what further need to be done to develop integrated working
  • ‘Nathan’ case study – using the 5Ps of formulation in the referral process
  • Local area presentation outlining the current referral process and thresholds
  • Post referral communication and processes
  • Developing a service mapping tool
