Cross Schools Moderation Workshops – KS1 and KS2

Moderation Workshops will take place between Wednesday 20th April and Friday 13th May from 4.00pm – 5.30pm.

Specific dates and venues – TBC emails will be sent to schools.

These sessions are an opportunity for cross- schools peer moderation of evidence-based teacher assessment judgements at KS1 and KS2 offering a greater understanding of national standards and expectations.

Each delegate should bring routine evidence of pupil performance derived from normal classroom practice for two, sample pupils who represent the teacher assessment framework standards of EXS and GDS as appropriate.

STA will provide LAs with the final list of moderators next week. It has not been possible to offer this training until now. We are  thrilled to be able to go ahead with these workshops.

These sessions will be led by Lead moderators.

The Aim;

  • An opportunity for peer moderation and review of writing across all standards awarded within the national teacher assessment framework
  • Understanding what makes effective evidence to ensure consistent and reliable teacher assessment judgements
  • Opportunity to reflect on necessary next steps to ensure a robust end of KS1 and KS2 teacher assessment process.

Moderation Workshops like this have always been well attended in previous years and the feedback is that the professional discussion with colleagues from other schools has been extremely useful.
