All Cultures Event – 13th November 2023

FAO: All Phases, Headteachers, & RE Subject Leaders

Dear colleagues,

As part of the council’s efforts to support and raise aware of this year’s Inter Faith Week (12-19 November 2023) we would like to inform you of an event we are holding at the Civic Centre. We are sure that it will be of interest to you.

We are warmly inviting you and/or any that staff from the religious education curriculum to attend this event.  We are hoping that you could arrange to have small groups of pupils attend that event to help raise awareness and encouraging positive educational outcomes.

Our Mayor, Cllr Suna Hurman, recognises the dynamic and diverse communities that we have in the borough. The wide range of religious communities’ help give shape and purpose to much of our civic life. She is planning to host an ‘All Cultures” event at the Civic Centre on the afternoon of Monday 13 November 2023. We hope that this will be of interest for you and your school.  If you would like to be kept informed and receive a programme for the event, please do reply to and we will keep you updated and arrange for invitations to be issued.

In the wider context, we would also like to highlight the Inter Faith web resource which may be useful to you if you are considering using the week as a vehicle to stimulate classroom discussions or school assembly content during the week. The link to the website can be found here:  and we recommend it to you.

If you do carry out any focused sessions, we would love it if you shared any plans that you have with us. If you record the events in any format (digital, paper, pictures) we might with your consent, incorporate this into our local authority led focus during Inter Faith Week

Thank you.
