Enfield’s School Nursing Service
Enfield’s School Nursing Service has recently made some changes to the way they deliver services to improve the support available to schools in Enfield. We would like to take this opportunity to share details of the School Nursing services available to your school.
Enfield’s School Nursing Service provides health care to children and young people aged between 5 and 19 years old and supports all mainstream schools in Enfield to meet the health care needs of their students. School nursing services available to schools in Enfield include:
- Duty Service – Telephone based information, advice and guidance for professionals, parents and young people
- Health care needs assessments for children referred to the service
- Advice and support with student care plans
- Training on asthma and the administration of medication for epilepsy and anaphylaxis
- Secondary School Health Drop Ins providing information and advice to students
- Health promotion and health education
- National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) – Undertaking height and weight measurements for eligible children in primary school
This updated and expanded universal offer to schools in Enfield will support children and young people in making healthy choices, taking responsibility for their health and accessing services at the earliest opportunity.
