The Role of the Participation and Inclusion Team
For all Headteachers, Careers Leads, Pastoral Staff & Heads of Year 11 and Sixth Form
The Participation and Inclusion Team sits within the School & Early Years Improvement Service (SEYIS).
The team delivers the council’s statutory responsibility for the Raising Participation Age (RPA) and reports to the Department of Education, DfE.
Our statutory duties for the RPA include:
- Collecting and submitting the destination details for all young people aged 16-18.
- Identifying and supporting 16–18-year-olds who are not in education, employment, or training. (NEET).
- Promoting the effective participation of young people in education, employment, or training.
Schools are under a duty to notify the local authority when a learner is no longer participating in education, for example, if they have dropped out of the sixth form or moved abroad.
The first data collection for destination is due on 18 September 2024 and all Careers Leads have been notified. See the attached document (Raising the Participation Age in Enfield) for more details.
The data required are as follows:
•Destination details for the 2023/24 Year 11 learners who did not continue in the sixth form.
• Yr. 12 Enrolment list for 2024/25 academic year
•Year 13 Enrolment list for 2024/25 academic year
Action for schools
