Reminder - STA Assessment Updates

Important reminder – The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) will continue to send official fortnightly emails throughout 2026 with key assessment updates every other Tuesday in term time. These remain an essential source of timely information, and additional messages may be issued if urgent actions arise. Please encourage colleagues who would benefit from these updates to sign up. The latest email was sent on 10 February 2026 and includes the following updates:

Key stage 2

  • Action: complete pupil registration by Friday 6 March
  • Action: apply for early opening by Friday 6 March
  • Action: apply for compensatory marks for spelling by Monday 20 April
  • Action: apply for additional time – open until Thursday 21 May
  • Action: apply for a timetable variation – open until Thursday 21 May
  • Action: apply for access to adaptable modified large print test papers – open until Thursday 21 May
  • Information: KS2 teacher assessment data collection – technical specification published on Thursday 12 February
