STA Updates and Reminders - 17 March 2026
For all Schools with Primary, KS1 and KS2 Phase
The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) will continue to send official fortnightly emails throughout 2026 with key assessment updates every other Tuesday in term time. The latest email was sent on 17 March 2026 and includes the following updates:
Primary assessment general
- Information: you can self-report maladministration allegations on the NCA Portal from Monday 23 March
Key stage 1
- Publication: phonics screening check administration guidance
- Reminder: order braille versions of the phonics screening check by Tuesday 21 April
- Publication: optional KS1 test administration guidance
- Information: optional KS1 modified test materials arrive in schools from Monday 27 April
Key stage 2
- Publication: KS2 test administration guidance
- Publication: KS2 special consideration guidance
- Information: KS2 test materials will arrive in schools from Monday 27 April
- Reminder: apply for compensatory marks for spelling by Monday 20 April
- Reminder: you can amend or place late modified test orders until Friday 1 May
- Reminder: apply to become a marker for the 2026 KS2 tests
