Welcome to the Enfield Professional Learning (PL) Programme for Schools for the financial year 2020-21.

The role of the School and Early Years Improvement Service (SEYIS) and the Professional Development team is to identify the development needs of school communities and coordinate provision and innovation across a range of partnerships, fostering community and professional learning networks across Enfield and beyond. Professional Development plays an essential role in the aim of greatest positive outcomes for children and young people. Collaboration and partnership with our schools is essential to achieving this aim, and we continue to expand the ways in which we can learn from each other.

In addition to bringing innovation to Enfield in the form of high-quality professional learning, we want to increase capacity within our schools. Year on year, we have been fortunate to offer programs led by teachers and school leaders from our schools.

This brochure covers the Autumn term 2020, which apart from First Aid, is all running online. We will upload the Spring 2021 brochure when guidance around face to face training becomes clear. We will publish regular updates  on Enfield PD Online which can be viewed at https://www.enfieldpdonline.org.uk/

For 2020-April 2021, separate buyback packages are as follows.

1.Professional Development

The Professional Pathway – all phases

This is a range of opportunities designed to develop teachers, school leaders and school business managers. It provides professional learning opportunities for those at the beginning of their career right through to headship.

We have a well-established Headteacher Induction Programme, elements of which are also open to Deputies new to post. The Enfield Aspiring to Headship Programme has been established. We offer the NPQH on an annual basis and sponsor suitable candidates from Buy Back Schools.

We are also continuing with the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH), Senior Leaders (NPQSL) and Middle Leaders (NPQML).

This section now also has information regarding development opportunities for School Based Designated Child Protection staff.

Curriculum

This section includes a range of professional development opportunities across the primary and secondary curriculum designed to enhance skills across a range of subjects and aspects of curriculum.

The NQT Development Programmes are not included in this brochure as they are published as separate documents in July each year. The NQT Programmes can be viewed via NQT Manager https://enfield.nqtmanager.com , click Content and then click on Resources.

 2.Special Educational Needs/Inclusion

This section reflects our priority of ensuring that staff are able to meet the increasing range of needs in our schools. Our intention is that we are all able to support those at risk of underachievement. We have also included reference to other teams.

3. Teaching Assistants and School Support Staff

This programme has training and development opportunities including relevant qualifications for those who have support roles in schools from all phases and settings.

We continue to work closely with the local teaching school alliances and promote the professional development opportunities they provide to Enfield Schools:

Enfield Teaching School Alliance (ETSA)/Bowes www.enfieldteachingschool.org Pan Enfield Alliance www.panenfieldalliance.co.uk/

As of Summer 2020, we have a named professional learning lead in each school. We greatly appreciate this partnership and welcome feedback and suggestions. Our aim is to have a world class professional learning offer, and this can only be done in collaboration with schools and their communities.
