Soon your pupils will be going on their six week or eight week holidays depending on which sector you're in. But with their new freedom will come new challenges for them. Their idea of fun whilst out of school might not be that of others, it is important that they understand what society expects of them during the long break. Preventing Accidents with Children - National Fostering Group
Childhood deaths now and forever have been heavily associated with accidents. Children are exempted from many of society's expectations, precisely because they are not considered yet to have the sense to make good decisions. This is directly linked to the tragically high likelihood that deaths or serious injury among children, is always a leading cause of childhood mortality. Education is the best way to prevent these. It is in this vein that the National Fostering Group has published a page on their website, aimed at informing adults on the top causes of childhood accidents. Peer Pressure PSHE Guidance - Childnet
Although schools are nominally top down organizations with teachers and pupils, with pupils learning from said teachers the reality for children and young people is different. For them schools represent an intricate social ecosystem. It is where they learn how to behave with other people. Ultimately this is as vital a part of their education, as the curriculum but it can generate issues. One of the near-inescapable problems of this process is the social force known as peer pressure. Which is in place to enforce social norms within pupil groups. But it is important that pupils learn how to relate to this force, without compromising themselves. Gambling and Harm Prevention - Ygam

Advanced Safeguarding for DSLs
This is a four-session course for DSLs over a full-day. The course is offered live and as a recorded replay. When the course is live, there are plenty of opportunities to contribute with observations, questions or answers. As a recording, the interactions from other people are included and feedback notes that this makes it feel like you are not on your own.
