Enfield Council White Ribbon Day Conference 2024
For all Headteachers and Relevant Staff
White Ribbon UK are an organisation that work to tackle the harmful masculine norms rooted in violence again women and girls, where so called ‘harmless’ words and behaviour contribute to a culture of sexism and misogyny. Starting with men, we must address the attitudes and behaviours that contribute to a fear of violence for women in their day-to-day lives. Ultimately, we want all women and girls to live free from the fear of violence.
Taking place on the 25th of November, the White Ribbon Day 2024 conference will mark the start of the 16 days of activism against Gender- Based Violence. This conference will explore the aforementioned topics alongside hearing from keynote speakers. There will also be opportunity to network and share your views and experiences in relation to the upcoming renewal of Enfield Council’s Violence Against Women and Girls strategy.
During the 16 days of activism, LBE are hosting presentations by the Police's Violence Against Women and Girls Community Liaison Officer for Enfield where you will learn about the work happening in Enfield to reduce offenses committed towards women and girls.
Additionally, a session from RISE Mutual will address the impact of Child to Parent Violence (CAPVA) upon domestic abuse survivors, explore harmful practices that block parenting support, discuss domestic informed practices for survivors when responding to CAPVA and give an overview of RISE’s CPAV and BAMBU interventions in Enfield - available for CFS and HASC staff.
