The GDPR is a new requirement that extends the provision of the current Data Protection Act with a statutory requirement for each organisation to have a named independent Data Protection Officer (DPO)

Description of Service:

The GDPR was introduced in May 2018, as an extension of the statutory requirements of the Data Protection Act that was previously in place.  A key element of the new regulations is for every organisation to have a named independent Data Protection Officer (DPO) who will the legislative requirements are being met within the required timescales. 

Description of Service:

The service to be offered is to support schools to fulfil the statutory DPO role as required by the GDPR and this will include:

• act as conduit to Information Commissioner and Public;
• ensure that training is made available and that awareness is raised;
• inform, advise and issue recommendations on Data Privacy;
• monitoring compliance

This service offers access to clerking support for all governing body and committee meetings, including additional flexibility to facilitate unexpected meetings such as exclusions and disciplinary hearings.

A team of dedicated Clerk to Governors (aka Support Officers) provide procedural advice as part of your agenda preparation process for meetings, including the production of model agendas and distribution of minutes and related papers.

Support also includes:

• regular monitoring and annual audit of pastoral matters relating to bullying, child protection, racial incidents and exclusions
• yearly recognition of outstanding governor contribution and 'Governor Award 4 Young People'
• signposting to relevant training, annual conferences and governing body reviews advertised in the Governor Training Diary or on the Governor Support Service Website
• e-learning via Modern Governor
• regular service evaluation and questionnaires for quality assurance
• regular alerts about new and current responsibilities through briefings

This service provides all aspects of grounds maintenance work as required by the school, meeting pre-agreed service specifications and responding to ad-hoc requests.

Work is carried out by trained, CRB-checked staff and overseen by experienced supervisors and dedicated managers.

• shrub and rose bed maintenance and pruning
• hedge cutting
• cricket pitch preparation
• sports field markings
• athletic tracks and field events
