Procurement Services 

Procurement Services is a Council service that sits within the ‘Resources’ Department. We provide commercial expertise supporting procurement activity across the Council delivering everything from stationary, cleaning supplies, laptops to CCTV, street lighting and accommodation. 

Our Offer / How we will support you 

We recognise schools are automatous in their choices of supply, but also need to adhere to Councils Procurement Policies. This Hub site has been set up to provide you with information on the most up to date Procurement Policies, guides, and templates. The site will be kept up to date with the latest information and policies. 

Currently we do not provide traded services to schools for procurement but can offer basic advice and guidance via procurement.support@enfield.gov.uk 

We also run training courses specifically to support schools: 

  • Compliant procurement for schools 

  • Delivering value for money 

  • Contract management 

We encourage you to sign up for these, to ensure that you are fully informed on your responsibilities in regard to procurement. 

What you need to do / Advice on buying Goods & Services 

All procurements undertaken by you must follow the CPRs as per the Council’s constitution, and the schools finance manual.  

Both of them must be followed to ensure your compliance to the CPRs. Following these will ensure that your procurements are fair, robust and transparent and value for money for your contracts. 

When procuring over the Procurement Threshold you must consider other Council policies such as our Modern Slavery Statement which sets out what Enfield is doing to eradicate modern slavery. You must also consider the Social Value Act 2012 to ensure that your suppliers are upholding equality standards and not supporting modern slavery through their supply chain.  

The Council has a new Sustainable and Ethical Procurement Policy which outlines the Council’s approach to procuring goods, services and works in a way that benefits local communities and the local economy, minimises damage to the environment and ensures human rights are upheld in our supply chains.  This must also be considered over the threshold.
